Built by people who got tired of explaining bad leads.

Azul Performance was started by people who had spent years on both sides of the exchange, running traffic and working the inquiries it produced. The company exists because that handover is almost always the weakest link, and almost never the thing anyone fixes.

The industry optimises the wrong number.

Networks compete on volume because volume is easy to quote. A sales team measures something else entirely: how many of today's inquiries were worth the time it took to work them. Those two numbers move independently, and the gap between them is where relationships break.

We built Azul Performance around the second number. In practice that means being slower to take on publishers, clearer about the rules, more willing to say a category is closed, and considerably less exciting in how the platform behaves. It is a narrower business than it could be, on purpose.

It also means we are a poor fit for anyone who wants volume without questions. We would rather establish that on the first call than in the third month.

Colleagues reviewing documents and charts in a meeting

Four commitments that shape decisions.

Written down, because principles that live only in someone's head get negotiated away under pressure.

01

Say no clearly

A direct answer with a reason is worth more to a partner than a slow yes followed by quiet rejection.

02

Show the source

Which publisher and channel produced an inquiry travels with it. Hiding that only benefits a network with something to hide.

03

Write the rule down

If a standard is not written down, it is not a standard. Everything we enforce exists on paper before it is enforced.

04

Keep the person

Every relationship has one named contact who knows the history. Escalating should not mean starting the story again.

How the company took shape.

2019

Founded in Miami

The company opens with a single category, a handful of advertiser relationships and a written set of rules that was, at the time, longer than the client list.

2020

The platform rebuilt

Our first attempt at routing is replaced with the approach the platform still runs on: readable rules and a complete record for every inquiry.

2021

A compliance desk

Copy review, consent standards and removal requests move out of ad hoc practice into a named function with the authority to pause traffic.

2023

Two more categories

Home energy and business services open after a year of building rules specifically for them rather than reusing someone else's.

Today

Eight categories, one standard

We work across eight consumer categories in the United States on a single foundation of consent, checking and record keeping.

Four desks, clear ownership.

Small teams with defined remits. Partners deal with the desk that owns their question rather than a general queue.

Advertiser desk

Owns advertiser relationships, the criteria we hold, getting connected and the review rhythm.

Partner desk

Owns publisher review, briefing, approvals, feedback and settlement questions.

Compliance desk

Owns the language standard, consent requirements, removal requests and privacy request intake.

Platform team

Owns intake, the rules we apply, delivery, monitoring and the records we keep.

On leadership pages

We do not publish stock photographs with invented job titles. If you are in diligence and need to know who runs something, ask and you will speak to them directly.

Diligence questions, reference requests and awkward questions about how we would handle a specific situation are all welcome. Ask them before you commit, not after.
